About Tagarela

Tagarela was created to help international and bilingual families adapt to life in Portugal in a softer, more practical and more confident way.

The project focuses on real everyday situations children face: kindergarten routines, simple requests, food, clothes, play, celebrations and communication with adults and other children.

The cards use clear illustrations and useful European Portuguese words to help children understand what is happening around them and express their needs better.

Each set is designed with little visual noise, practical vocabulary and a calm structure that is easy for children, parents, teachers and therapists to use.

The goal is simple: to make Portuguese feel clearer, more familiar and more connected to everyday life in Portugal.
